Etihad Airways announces more than a thousand positions paying over five thousand dirhams.

With its headquarters located in Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways has made public its aggressive expansion ambitions, indicating that it intends to hire up to 2,000 experts for a variety of positions this year. The recruiting push for mechanics, cabin staff, and pilots is based on the expectation of significant expansion by 2025. Interestingly, the most of these jobs are anticipated to be filled by non-Emiratis, demonstrating the airline’s dedication to a diverse workforce.

As part of the growth plan, Etihad will also be adding 15 more aircraft to its fleet. To strengthen the airline’s operational skills for the planned fleet increase, Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves emphasized the need of hiring and training in the second half of the year.

This is a calculated strategic decision as Etihad Airways looks to improve the range of services it provides by expanding the number of flights, frequency, and destinations. A discernible increase in passenger traffic—the airline had an 86% passenger load factor in 2023, a notable gain over the previous year—is driving this choice.

With Dh20.3 billion in sales, Dh525 million in net profit, and Dh1.4 billion in operational results, Etihad just disclosed its financial results for 2023, demonstrating impressive success. A Dh4 billion rise in passenger revenue over the previous year is credited with this outstanding accomplishment.

With an eye toward the future, Neves is upbeat about Etihad Airways’ trajectory, seeing a significant rise in passengers from 10 million in 2022 to over 30 million by 2030. This lofty goal, nevertheless, is contingent upon the prompt purchase of more aircraft in order to keep up with the increasing demand. Neves projects a 25–30% growth rate in 2024 alone, with goals of moving 17 million passengers assuming the fleet expansion goes according to schedule.

Giving a reference to the country’s talent growth, Neves stated that he plans to greatly increase the proportion of Emirati pilots working for the airline in the upcoming years. He underlined how crucial it is to support homegrown talent in the aviation industry and represent the United Arab Emirates internationally.
