Just a few days after Jake Paul made his comeback to the ring on March 2, PFL star Cedric Doumbe wants to challenge Jake Paul if his opponent fails to make weight for their bout on March 7.
Jake Paul was completely focused on boxing when he initially entered the realm of combat sports. But after competing in crossover matches with athletes from other sports for years, he’s grown more receptive to fighting in mixed martial arts.
At first, “The Problem Child” had his sights set on competing in the UFC, but UFC President Dana White swiftly put an end to that when the two got into an argument about fighter pay and pay-per-view sales.
Since then, Jake has committed to compete in the Professional Fighter’s League’s Super Fights division as an MMA newbie. Many have applied to be his first companion in the cage to dance, but the most recent applicant wants to stay.
PFL star Cedric Doumbe wants Jake Paul fight on March 7
The most recent callout has come from Cedric Doumbe, who competes in the PFL’s Welterweight division, and has got a win in the boxing ring under his belt.
Baissangour Chamsoudinov is Doumbe’s opponent on March 7, although there have been questions raised over Chamsoudinov’s weight. He would prefer to face Jake in such scenario.
“Maybe I’ll fight, I’m not sure.” I think I might go for Jake Paul! Perhaps Jake Paul. However, Jake Paul is the one. The kickboxer told Ariel Helawni during his interview on The MMA Hour, “I think the Stade de France would be full in an hour if I fight against Jake Paul.” “He’s definitely bigger than I am. larger than me but the same height. However, I enjoy being fit. I’m not fond of cutting weight.
It is an ambitious ask from the Cameroonian fighter, given that Jake is scheduled to fight on March 2 against a, as of yet, unannounced opponent.
PFL boss Peter Murray has confirmed that the YouTuber-turned-boxer will finally step into the cage in 2024, but he hasn’t committed to a concrete date yet. So, it remains to be seen when it’ll happen.
