Tre nuovi eroi giocabili sono tra le novità portate dalla BlizzCon 2023 su Overwatch 2. While the current owner Mauga was shown off to the public during the opening night event, two other characters captured their interest: one is a kind of space ranger known to the community as Space Ranger, and the other is Venture, who has been revealed to be the game’s first non-binary character repeatedly.
Throughout the event, Aaron Keller, the game’s director, gave a brief presentation of both new heroes while sharing concept art that inspired them.
As of right now, there isn’t much information available about them, but we do know that “Space Ranger” will be a support character while Venture will focus on the DPS using an armor that remembers a target.
Both of these eroi will be making their game debut in 2024, along with the new Clash mode and Hanaoka map.
Mauga, the legendary tank known for his massive mitragliatrici, will make his Overwatch 2 debut in Stage 8, which is scheduled for December 5, 2023.
The prerelease statistics from BlizzCon has allowed players to get a sense of Mauga’s abilities and gaming style.
What has particularly captured the community’s attention in recent times is Venture’s brand identity. After the reveal, the game’s character tech artist, Ana Martínez, confirmed in response to a user that Venture’s names are “they/them,” highlighting the fact that this is the first non-binary character in Overwatch 2.
This announcement is in keeping with Overwatch’s mission to promote inclusivity by showcasing playable characters with a range of sexual orientations—a feature that the gaming community has highly valued.
The addition of inclusive and diverse heroes like Venture highlights Blizzard’s commitment to showcasing diversity within Overwatch 2. Fans are eager for Stagione 8 and other highly anticipated game updates, but they are unable to learn more about these new characters and their special abilities at this time.
