One Piece Season 2 release window
One Piece Season 2 will be released in 2025 and starts filming in June 2024.
The release window was announced after the series’ renewal was confirmed by Netflix in 2023.
This was likely due to the viewers the first season earned, with reportedly 37.8M views in less than 2 weeks.
Critical responses were also positive, with our One Piece review giving the show 4 stars, “While many anime live-action adaptations often feel like soulless recreations, One Piece at least seems like it’s trying to create something new out of what has come before, and it’s doing so with a passion just as infectious as Luffy’s.”
One Piece Season 2 plot: What is it about?
One Piece season 2 will follow the Straw Hats as they enter the Grand Line and get involved in a conflict with the Baroque Works criminals, according to the showrunner.
Season 1 was one of Netflix’s most successful original series.
The new co-showrunner Joe Tracz confirmed the next arc to Deadline, “It’s a dream and a joy to come aboard the Going Merry as it enters the Grand Line.” Tracz also promised the adventures would get “even grander.”
There’s plenty of future material for the show to cover, so if the next chapter does well, expect a lot more.
One Piece Season 2 cast speculation: Who could be in it?
The One Piece Season 2 cast will likely include Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Vincent Regan as Vice Admiral Garp, Jacob Gibson as Usopp, Jeff Ward as Buggy the Clown, and Morgan Davies as Koby.
We also know that a new One Piece villain will turn up, thanks to a leak.
We’re sure Netflix will have lots of surprises in store for us, too, so don’t be surprised if some new additions are kept under wrap.
