In addition to Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan is returning to his mafia drama with Sylvester Stallone with Tulsa King Season 2. Here’s all the information we have, including the release date, the actors, and other specifics.
The main character of the well-liked TV show is Stallone’s character, Dwight Manfredi, a devoted New York mob member who served his sentence. He is dispatched to Tulsa to lay the groundwork since the outside world has changed, and he intends to build his empire in his new home.
The first season of Taylor Sheridan’s sitcom features plenty of drama as Dwight starts to separate himself from his previous gangster family and forge a bond with Tulsa. He gets into a fierce competition with the local motorcycle gang and the ATF while pursuing commercial endeavors.
The last fans saw Dwight, he was getting taken away in handcuffs by the ATF just as his casino business opened. More drama will ensue in Tulsa King Season 2, so here’s what you need to know. (Warning: Spoilers ahead for Tulsa King Season 1!)
Tulsa King Season 2 release window
Tulsa King Season 2 will be released on Paramount+ on September 15, 2024. The release date announcement came via a June 26 report from Variety.
Stallone had previously confirmed a release window in May, taking to Instagram to say it’s a “fantastic follow-up to the first season” and that the second season will be “coming out in early fall.”
Tulsa King Season 2 was approved by Paramount+ back in November 2022 following the ratings success of the first episode. Filming on the project began in April 2024, with locations including Oklahoma and Atlanta.
Tulsa King Season 2: What will it be about?
There isn’t an official plot summary for Tulsa King Season 2 available from Paramount+.However, the upcoming season will need to handle the cliffhanger finale. Given that Stallone disclosed on Instagram that Dwight will be defending himself, we may assume that Season 2 would center on his arrest.
ATF agent Stacy chooses at the conclusion of Season 1 to turn on Dwight and use the flash drive he handed her as proof against him. The flash drive demonstrates Dwight’s use of bribery and provides access to their million-dollar account.
Season 2 will likely begin with the aftermath of the arrest and the legal battle to prove Dwight’s supposed innocence. Not to mention, Stacy will have to answer for her betrayal and Dwight’s team managing without him.
Remember that Dwight remains a target for the Italian mafia. He made it clear that he was done with them, having assembled his own devoted team in Tulsa.
Goodie’s decision to remain with Dwight and cut his links to the mob is another aspect. Given that Dwight took over the mafia after killing his father, Chickie will probably try to hurt him.
We’ll also witness how Dwight’s daughter Tina handles his incarceration in the upcoming second season. Trying to make amends with his daughter, who he had left behind when he was incarcerated, played a significant role in Dwight’s narrative. After Tulsa King Season 1’s events, the two may no longer be on good terms, even though they were before.
An official logline for Season 2 from Paramount doesn’t offer much detail but does hint that Dwight will have to contend with affairs back home. The logline reads: “Dwight struggles to keep his family and crew safe while keeping track of all his affairs. Plus, he still has unfinished business back in New York.”

In April, Deadline reported that MCU star Frank Grillo has joined the cast as Bill Bevilaqua in Tulsa King Season 2. He will appear as a series regular with his character as a Kansas City mobster with interests in Tulsa. Given Dwight’s run-in with the ATF, Bill will likely see his chance and become the season’s new enemy.
It was announced in May that Neil McDonough would be joining the cast as a Season 2 regular. McDonough plays Cal Thresher, a “businessman who comes into conflict with Dwight. “powerful and extremely territorial businessman.”
As for who’s behind the camera, Deadline also confirmed Terence Winter stepped down as showrunner and is instead returning as writer for Season 2, while continuing his duties as executive producer. Meanwhile, Craig Zisk has signed on to direct and executive produce the second chapter.
