Live-action Netflix series All actors and characters from One Piece

The Netflix live-action One Piece series is now in the middle of production, but which of the beloved series’ numerous characters will we see there, and whose actors make up the One Piece cast?

The cast of One Piece is ready to set sail across the four oceans!

For those who are unfamiliar, One Piece was a manga written and drawn by Eiichiro Oda that actually holds the record for being the best-selling manga of all time. Toei Animation turned it into an anime in 1999, and it’s still going strong more than a thousand episodes later.

However, the One Piece train — or boat, as the case may be — isn’t slowing down since a live-action series has been in development for a while. Fans have eagerly awaited any news regarding the project ever since Netflix said a live-action One Piece version will debut in 2020.

Cast & characters from One Piece’s live-action Netflix series

Netflix’s live-action One Piece is set to bring the world of the manga and anime to life, as Monkey D. Luffy sails the seas to try and become the Pirate King.

In a press statement regarding the show, the president of South Africa, where the series is being filmed, had the following to say about the casting:

One Piece, which is filmed in Cape Town, “involves more than 50 South African cast members; over 1,000 crew positions; 67% previously disadvantaged individuals; and 46% youth employees; as well as an Academy of Creative Excellence (ACE) mentorship programme for more than 30 young creatives and technicians in collaboration with the SA Film Academy during 2022.”

But with the casting releases aside, which characters and actors are actually appearing in the One Piece live-action show?

Monkey D. Luffy: Iñaki Godoy

Where have you seen Godoy before? Netflix’s Who Killed Sara, where Godoy portrayed Bruno. in La querida del Centauro, and Amadeo “El Gato.”

Monkey D. Luffy is the title character of the series and possesses elastic powers. His goal is to become the Pirate King. On the ship The Going Merry, he is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. He has a decent heart and a love of adventure, but his lack of common sense frequently gets him into problems.

Speaking about the part to Vanity Teen, Godoy said, “To portray a character like Luffy is one of the greatest honours of my career and I know that this experience will stay with me forever regardless of the outcome.”

Since he is the main character, Luffy naturally makes an appearance in the very first chapter and episode of both the manga and the anime.
