The formal announcement of a sequel to the 2022 horror film Smile 2 has come from Paramount. Here is what we currently know.
Smile made $217 million at the box office, making it one of the top horror movies of 2022 while having a low $17 million budget. Originally scheduled to debut only on Paramount+, it moved to cinemas after receiving a favorable review.
Smile filmmaker Parker Finn had shown interest in doing something different for Smile 2, but he also talked about the film’s potential. This whole thing sounds like the beginning of an incredible horror movie sequel!
Here is all the information we currently know about Smile 2, including the release date.

Finn is returning to direct the sequel in addition to writing and producing Smile 2. “I’m just trying to enjoy the moment of finally crossing the finish line on this one,” Finn revealed to Slash Film.
“I think there’s a lot of fun to be had in the world of Smile, but as a filmmaker, I never want to just do a retread of anything. So, if there was ever to be more, I’d want to make sure that it was very surprising and not what people might expect.”
Smile 2 plot: What’s it about?
Smile 2 will continue the story of an evil smile spreading around the inner circle of one person, only this time it will focus on an international pop star.
The other narrative specifics are still unknown aside from that. The teaser gives away a good bit, and we already know that if the cursed grin is terrible enough for regular folks, imagine what it would do to a megastar with a large following.
