Here’s what we currently know about what Saitama and Genos will be up to in One Punch Man Season 3, which may be coming soon.
Few television shows have captivated viewers’ hearts as thoroughly as One Punch Man, from its modest beginnings in 2015 to surpassing its reputation as a cult classic.
With its charming characters, caustic humor, and expansive universe, it’s safe to say that fans have been eagerly awaiting Season 3 ever since Season 2 concluded in 2019.
Saitama, a remarkably relatable hero with unmatched power who can vanquish any foe with a single blow, is at the core of it all. He has trained tirelessly (at the expense of his hair) to develop his superhuman power, but despite this, he still feels dissatisfied and longs for a terrifying challenge.
Is there a One Punch Man Season 3 release date?
As of February 2024, an official release date for One Punch Man Season 3 hasn’t been announced.
However, with the first episode of Season 2 airing on April 10, 2019, and a four-year gap between One Punch Man Seasons 1 and 2, fans speculate that we could anticipate the series returning in early to mid-2024.
In addition, there are numerous hints that suggest Season 3 will premiere this year. One Punch Man Season 3 was included on the list of projects voice actor Kaito Ishikawa, who portrays Genos, is scheduled to participate in this year, which he shared on X (previously Twitter) back in January.
However, fans will have to wait and watch how One Punch Man does given MAPPA’s continuous production issues and mounting concerns over the state of Jujutsu Kaisen.
One Punch Man Season 3 plot: What to expect
One Punch Man Season 3 was confirmed in August 2022, much to the delight of fans, including a teaser from character designer Chikashi Kubota. But the official release date and production studio still remain unknown.
So what do we know? While the specific plot details are closely guarded secrets, it’s possible to make an educated guess. The first two seasons covered the initial 85 chapters (equivalent to 16 volumes) of the manga. Therefore, the storyline should pick up from the final episode of Season 2, following Saitama’s triumph over Elder Centipede and Garou’s capture, delving deeper into the manga’s Monster Association arc.
The Monster Association: A Clash of Factions
The biggest enemy of the Hero Association will always be the Monster Association, headed by King Orochi. In Season 2, we saw how they “monsterized” regular people by making them eat Monster King cells, turning them into fearsome creatures. There are dire repercussions for the planet from this. Furthermore, Season 3 of One Punch Man promises to ramp up the action and stakes inside the One Punch Man universe as rumors of an all-powerful creature known as “God” start to spread.
Will the Monster King still play a role?
Orochi, the Monster King, emerged as a formidable antagonist in Season 2 and is likely to make a comeback in Season 3. Which means the stakes will be even higher for Saitama and Genos.
What about Garou?
Garou, the martial arts prodigy and “Hero Hunter,” also made his screen debut in season two. Based on the manga, he is expected to have a major part in season three. He faces up against the Hero Association in his pursuit of strength, power, and equality. As a Monster Association survivor, we expect a titanic battle between Saitama and the “human monster,” Garou.
A season of intense battles
As the S-Class heroes face the Monster Association in Season 3, the heroes will come under more scrutiny. The greatest-ranking hero, Blast, will be introduced during this arc, along with his quest to get enigmatic cubes so he may speak with “God.” The ancient and all-powerful creature “God” will not only add numerous layers to the tale but also pose a significant danger, making for an exciting and unexpected plot.
What about Saitama?
Although he may not be the universe’s favorite hero, “Caped Baldy” is certainly the fans’. According to the comic, Saitama could play a supporting role because of the monsters’ headquarters’ awkward position underneath his house. That being said, you shouldn’t write him off. There’s no way he won’t come through to rescue the day, considering his past.
Is there a One Punch Man Season 3 trailer?
So far, fans are still waiting for the One Punch Man Season 3 trailer.
However, as anticipation continues to mount for what is likely to be an epic clash between heroes and monsters, you can stream the previous seasons of the series on Netflix and Hulu.
What you should remember before One Punch Man Season 3
Before we take a look at Season 3, let’s quickly recap everything that’s happened so far:
The first season presented a universe full of eccentric characters, including as the Hero Association and Saitama’s “sidekick,” the cyborg Genos. The episodes traced his ascent through the ranks and ended with an exciting fight against Boros, a foe that Saitama has finally shown worthy of defeating.
While maintaining a similar narrative framework, Season 2 went farther into the main plot. The events of One Punch Man Season 3’s Monster Association storyline were put in motion when Saitama, Genos, and other elite heroes banded together to fight an increasing tide of monster assaults.
