We’re excited for more Reacher after he dealt the villains in Season 2 some justice. So continue reading to learn every everything we currently know about Season 3, including the cast and storyline.
Is there a Reacher Season 3 release date?
There’s no Reacher Season 3 release date yet, but it’s coming in 2025.
Filming on the next third chapter started in December 2023, with Ritchson telling Jimmy Fallon back in February 2024: “We’re nearing completion of Season 3.”
An precise date is still pending. But if Prime Video follows Season 1’s itinerary, Jack Reacher won’t make a small-screen comeback until February 2025. In any case, things are going well, and more episodes should be available within the next year.
Reacher Season 3 cast
Alan Ritchson will star as the titular hero once more in Reacher Season 3.
The following cast members are confirmed for Reacher Season 3:
- Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher
- Maria Sten as Frances Neagley
- Anthony Michael Hall as Zachary Beck
- Sonya Cassidy as Sarah Duffy
- Brian Tee as Quinn
- Johnny Berchtold as Richard Beck
- Roberto Montesino as Guillermo Villanueva
- Daniel David Stewart as Steven Elliot
- Olivier Richters as Paulie
While Ritchson’s participation was known from the start, Sten’s comeback wasn’t declared until January 24, 2024. Nevertheless, Neagley is a recurrent character in both the show and the Jack Reacher novels it is based on, so the news was hardly shocking.
Reacher Season 3 cast members Anthony Michael Hall (The Dark Knight) and Sonya Cassidy (Lodge 49) were announced in February. Hall plays Zachary Beck and Duffy, respectively.
Duffy is portrayed as a tough-as-nails DEA agent who made a mistake that quickly landed her informant in hot water. In the meanwhile, Beck is shown as a prosperous businessman, a widower, and a parent to his son, who is 20 years old.
Then, in March, Daniel David Stewart (Catch-22), Johnny Berchtold (Gaslit), Roberto Montesino (Father Stu), and Brian Tee (Expats) were added to the cast.
Berchtold plays Beck’s son, while Tee plays Quinn, an imposing character who Reacher once looked into. Stewart’s Steven Elliot is portrayed as a novice DEA agent, while Guillermo Villanueva of Montesino serves as Duffy’s mentor.
Olivier Richters will play the fictional character Paulie. “The Dutch Giant” is the stage moniker of this performer, so good luck, Reacher.
In addition, there’s a chance that characters from Seasons 1 and 2 besides Sten will make an appearance in Season 3. After all, Malcolm Goodwin’s Oscar Finlay managed a one-episode comeback in the second season.
Reacher Season 3 plot
Reacher Season 3’s plot is based on Persuader, Lee Child’s seventh Jack Reacher novel.
This carries on the show’s custom of disregarding the chronological sequence of the Reacher books, both inside the universe and with regard to actual publishing dates. If Season 3 had followed any of the two rules, it would have adapted Book 12, Nothing to Lose.
Still, Persuader serves as the basis for Reacher Season 3. This is how that book is summarized:
“Jack Reacher is a momentary person. without a place to live. without dedication. And with a fierce desire to make amends for wrongs and rewrite his own painful history. DEA Knowing she has committed a grave error by placing one of her own female operatives in a death trap within a heavily guarded Maine estate, Susan Duffy is living for the future.
With a masterful deception, Reacher plunges into the shadowy core of an extensive criminal organization. In an attempt to save an agent whose time is running out, Reacher breaks into the waterfront stronghold of a criminal kingpin. He will come upon a violent and secretive environment there as well as some unresolved issues from his own past.
Although earlier seasons of Reacher have pretty precisely adapted their individual source material, it’s uncertain how much of the aforementioned will apply to Reacher Season 3. The series logline from Amazon Studios, which states that “Reacher must go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past,” really fits with this.
That being said, Sten’s Neagley is confirmed to be returning, despite the fact that the character doesn’t appear in Persuader. So, we can expect some deviations from the source material.
