What is Reggie Bush Net Worth and Salary?

Reggie Bush Net Worth: The net worth of former American football player Reggie Bush is $25 million. Bush received a salary of $60 million throughout his NFL career. After playing collegiate football at USC, he was selected in the running back draft by the New Orleans Saints in 2006. He then played for the Detroit Lions (2013–2014), Buffalo Bills (2016), San Francisco 49ers (2015), and Miami Dolphins (2011–2012). Fox Sports recruited Reggie in March 2019 to work as a studio analyst for college football.

Early Life

On March 2, 1985, in Spring Valley, California (San Diego County), Reginald Alfred Bush Jr. was born. In 1989, following the divorce of his parents, Reginald Sr. and Denise, his mother wed Lamar Griffin. Reggie went to Helix High School in La Mesa, California, with his stepbrother, Javon Griffin. In recognition of his outstanding play as a running back for the Helix Highlanders football team, Bush received the coveted Silver Pigskin trophy, which is presented by KUSI-TV’s Prep Pigskin Report. Rivals.com ranked Bush as the top running back in the United States in 2003, the year he participated in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, a high school football event. During his high school years, Reggie participated in the track team and finished second in both the boys’ 50-meter final at the 2003 Los Angeles Invitational Indoor Meet and the 100-meter final at the 2002 CIF California State Meet.

College Career

Bush chose the University of Southern California as his college after being awarded an athletic scholarship. His tenure with the USC Trojans was from 2003 to 2005. Reggie established a freshman record at USC with 1,331 all-purpose yards in 2003, and he was selected to the first team of the Freshman All-American squad. In addition, he was awarded the ESPN Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year. In 2004, he and former Helix Highlanders teammate Alex Smith were finalists for the Heisman Trophy. In 2004, Bush was named an All-American, nominated for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, and chosen MVP of USC. In 2005, he won the Heisman Trophy and was named to the first team of the All-American team. He eventually lost the Heisman Trophy, though, when the NCAA determined that he had accepted improper favors in violation of its rules. Several honors were bestowed upon Reggie in 2005, including the Doak Walker Award, the Associated Press College Football Player of the Year, and the Touchdown Club of Columbus Player of the Year. He made the decision to join the NFL Draft in 2006 rather than play for USC during his last year of eligibility.

Professional Career

Bush agreed to an endorsement contract with adidas three days before to the NFL draft. After being selected as the second overall choice in the NFL Draft, he joined the New Orleans Saints. Reggie assisted the club in reaching their first NFC Championship Game in January 2007. Due to a partly torn ligament in his knee, he missed the final four games of the season. In October 2008, he had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in the same knee. After less than two months, Reggie suffered another injury to his left knee, spraining his medial collateral ligament, which led to his placement on injured reserve. In 2009, he underwent another knee surgery and missed many games because of hamstring, calf, and knee problems. Super Bowl XLIV was won by the Saints on February 7, 2010, as they defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31–17. Bush shattered a bone in his right leg in September of that year and was unable to return to action until Thanksgiving.

After being traded to the Miami Dolphins in July 2011, Reggie won two AFC Offensive Player of the Week awards while playing with them. He inked a $16 million (guaranteed $4 million) four-year contract with the Detroit Lions in March 2013. In January 2015, the club qualified for the playoffs but was defeated 24–20 by the Dallas Cowboys. Bush was cut by the Lions in February 2015, and he signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the San Francisco 49ers less than a month later. The deal included a $500,000 signing bonus and a $500,000 guarantee. That September, during the season opener, he suffered a leg injury. Later that November, when playing for the St. Louis Rams ripped his left meniscus after crashing into a wall. Reggie later filed a lawsuit, claiming that the “concrete ring of death” that surrounding the field was to blame for his season-ending injury, against the Rams, the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission, and the St. Louis Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority. After finding in his favor, a jury ordered the Rams to give Bush $12.45 million in June 2018. In August 2016, Reggie agreed to a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills, and on December 15, 2017, he declared his retirement from professional football.
