Suzume no Tojimari, directed by Makoto Shinkai, has received a new teaser ahead of its November 11 release. The trailer includes Toaka’s theme music “Suzume” (Sparrow) and new voice lines by Nanoka Hara, who voices Suzume:

The film Matsumoto Koshiro IX Suzume no Tojimari is an original work by Makoto Shinkai, who also directs and writes the script. Takumi Tanji is the art director, while Masayoshi Tanaka is the character designer. The film looks to be another fantasy narrative in the vein of Shinkai’s past works, Your Name and Weathering With You. The film is being animated by CoMix Wave Films. The soundtrack is being composed by Kazuma Jinnouchi and RADWIMPS.
The plot of the film is described on the official website as follows: “Doors of Disaster open across Japan, delivering calamity.” Suzume, 17, lives in a peaceful village in Japan’s Kyushu area. The plot begins when she meets a young man on a quest to find all the doors. She pursues him and discovers an ancient door in the mountains at an abandoned building. She lunges out, as though attracted by something… This is the beginning of her quest throughout Japan to close the doors that lead to tragedies. The modern adventure and narrative of a girl’s independence and evolution by Makoto Shinkai begins.
