Fans had nothing but appreciation for the animators’ visual style and animation of the season, which features two well-liked manga arcs. The studio is working on many big projects at once, which is having an impact on Jujutsu Kaisen’s output. Jujutsu Kaisen’s finest arc, the Shibuya Incident, is now in peril due to the production breakdown, making the pressure on MAPPA greater than ever.

“When things get tough, I get flooded with work requests, but when it comes to money negotiations, it gets postponed for over a month,” one of the Jujutsu Kaisen animators reportedly said on Twitter/X, according to CBR. That is the nature of MAPPA as a business. I’ve already had enough of remaining silent about it.
On November 18, the animator shared the message; however, it was removed a few hours later. They are a freelancer under contract with MAPPA. In reaction to contentious modifications to the Japanese tax code, the studio recently raised animator pay.
This animator, however, reports a workload that is unquestionably higher than average and offers no evidence that the additional effort is compensated for. Animators have already been forced to remove their blogs after disclosing information regarding their working circumstances at MAPPA.
Short deadlines are making it tough for animators to keep up with the projects. The production crew also rejects their plea for a delay. It is evident that animators work on episodes until the very last minute before their publication, as seen by the 4-5 hour delay in the preview stills of the most recent episode. An rising number of animators voiced their displeasure with the workload.
