How to change a TikTok caption after you’ve previously uploaded

On TikTok, users may add captions to their videos before sharing them, making it a popular feature. However, what occurs if you err or neglect to include them? This is how to change a TikTok’s caption after it has been posted.

For those who are unfamiliar with TikTok, it may be an arduous and perplexing program to navigate. The social media network is always introducing new functions and modifying how some parts operate. It might be intimidating to post a video since there are so many options available.

On TikTok, videos with long subtitles are quite popular, so it’s critical to get them right the first time. What occurs, though, if you spell something wrong that is distracting? Can it be altered in any way?

Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as clicking the “edit” button on Instagram. It takes a little longer and requires you to remove your movie before uploading it again. But the reward is well worth it!

How to change your caption on TikTok

Regretfully, you have to quickly erase and repost your TikTok in order to change the caption after it has been posted. But do not worry. You don’t have to miss out on all of your progress if your film has a tonne of effects, music, and edits.

Here’s how to repost your final product before anyone notices!

  1. Tap on the ‘Profile’ icon at the bottom right of your screen.
  2. Once you’re on your profile, select the video you want to repost.
  3. Click the three dots to the right of your video. This will open the ‘options’ menu.
  4. The ‘Save Video’ option should be on the left-hand side of the screen. Once you’ve selected that, the video will download to your device.
  5. Repost the ready-made video by uploading it from your camera roll, adding a new caption, and making sure you’ve perfected it before you post!)

Now all you have to do is sit back, watch the likes roll in, and wait for TikTok to add an ‘edit post’ option.
