For the upcoming Netflix anime “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off,” Michael Cera and Sex Bob-Omb rejoin, but this time in animated form. The eight-part animated series, directed by Science Saru, tells the cult beloved tale of the bass-playing lead character Scott Pilgrim and his conflict with both ex-girlfriends and bands.
The 2010 action romantic comedy “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,” which was based on the graphic novel series by Bryan Lee O’Malley, is followed by the new Netflix program.

Nearly all of the performers from the 2010 film “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off” provide the voices for the animated characters. This includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Jason Schwartzmen as Gideon Graves, Satya Bhabha as Matthew Patel, Brie Larson as Natalie V. “Envy” Adams, Aubrey Plaza as Julie Powers, Ellen Wong as Knives Chau, Alison Pill as Kim Pine, Johnny Simmons as Neil, Mark Webber as Stephen Stills, Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram, Mae Whitman as Roxie Richter and Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim.
Wright remarked in March that the “Scott Pilgrim” group “became a close-knit family and friendships were forged for life.” The whole cast is still included in a group email that has been active since 2010. I was glad to be able to inform everyone that we had finally devised a plan to carry on the expedition. It has been a genuine delight to see (and hear) everyone return to their duties.

It’s hilarious, O’Malley continued. It has feelings. It has beautiful aesthetics. The action sequences will astound you. Along the road, there might be a few surprises.
