Just for its beaches, Tangier is a destination definitely worth seeing. You will appreciate the beaches in northern Morocco if you have ever had a vacation to southern Andalusia and fell in love with its apparently endless sandy beaches and quiet natural areas. The best beaches around Tangier are those with fine golden sands and others with a more rough and rugged appearance. Except for those in populated tourist regions, almost all of them share a same characteristic, despite their variances. Specifically, they’re not too crowded yet, which makes them feel like those amazing beaches in Spain from the 1970s. There aren’t many opulent beach clubs along these sections of the shore.
There are, however, a few bars, the occasional street vendor, and somebody offering to give your kids a quick ride on a camel.
These beaches don’t have many big hotels, although there are a few vacation rentals somewhat nearby. There is a peace here that visitors will find difficult to discover in areas around the Iberian Peninsula.

The best beaches in Tangier
Prepare for the ideal beach day on one of Tangier’s greatest beaches by packing your beach bag with a supply of towels, sunscreen, water, a few snacks, your favorite book, and a pair of earbuds. Some beaches are accessible only by automobile or taxi, while others are urban beaches located within the city (such as Malabata Beach and Municipal Beach). Your best option if you decide to take a taxi is to ask the personnel at the hotel desk to make a reservation for you. This will enable you to settle on the fee upfront (in one or both directions), preventing unpleasant surprises later in the day.

Halfway between the Caves of Hercules and Cape Spartel is this serene beach. It is situated in a stunning natural setting and is modest in size. On windy days, be careful to take precautions, as the waves can be turbulent. This beach features a great bar, the Achakkar Beach cafe-restaurant, where you can have Moroccan-inspired Mediterranean cuisine or a refreshing drink while taking in the breathtaking views. So there’s no need to pack your own food.

Though it’s a little closer to the Caves of Hercules, the beach is adjacent to the previous one. It’s not the biggest beach, but it’s spacious enough for a relaxing swim and sunbathing. Although you can drive very close to the beach, you will still need to walk a short distance to reach the coast. Visit this beach to pass the time before heading to Cape Spartel to take in the stunning sunset, or after spending the morning exploring the Caves of Hercules.

One of the most well-liked beaches for day-trippers staying in Tangier is the one closest to the Caves of Hercules. This beach is not as suitable for swimming as the one above since it is pebbly. Even so, it’s still a nice place to sunbathe, and you can grab a bite to eat at one of the beachside eateries and cafes. You can park in the cave car park if you’re traveling by car.

likThis beach’s accessibility, vibrant ambiance, and amenities for beachgoers make it a great choice, even though it has a lot of fishing boats anchored in the sand and beautiful natural surroundings. It’s a wonderful location to try authentic regional cuisine while taking in breathtaking views of the sea. Comparing Dalia’s beachside pubs to other restaurants, they more than hold their own. Their tendency to be somewhat bustling and noisy is the only drawback. Having said that, it provides a genuine understanding of Moroccan life. But if you visit in the off-peak months, you’ll have them all to yourself!
Beaches of the Strait
The “beaches of the Strait” refer to a collection of beaches that are near Cape Malabata. Playa Blanca, so named for the white hues of its sand, is the most picturesque beach along this section of coastline. Though tiny in size, it’s a wonderful beach where you can unwind to the sound of waves crashing onto the coast. It has transparent waters and stunning natural surroundings. In addition, there are a few extremely basic second residences, some beachside cottages, and a few busy summertime pubs. But starting in September, hardly anybody is visible.
