What is Vanish Mode on Instagram?

Instagram users may send each other messages that vanish instantly by using the Vanish Mode. This is how you utilize Instagram’s disappear mode.

Many people enjoy the disappearing function, which makes your messages disappear once they’ve been read, which is a feature that makes applications like Snapchat popular.

However, some users might not be aware that Instagram offers a comparable service. When you are texting someone, you must actively select “Vanish Mode,” which means that any messages you send in this mode are only meant to be read temporarily.

Note that this function is only accessible in a few countries, therefore it’s possible that you don’t live in one of these countries if you can’t access it. Vanish Mode cannot be used in group chats; it may only be used in one-on-one interactions.

How to turn on Vanish Mode on Instagram

Vanish Mode is an easy feature to get to grips with, and turning it on is simple if it’s available in your country.

Note: To use this feature, you will first need to connect Facebook Messenger with Instagram, which you can do by clicking the ‘Update Messaging’ button in your settings.

  1. Launch Instagram.
  2. Go to the DM tab by clicking the arrow in the top right corner.
  3. Click on the chat with the person you want to use vanish mode with.
  4. To begin using Vanish Mode, swipe up from the bottom of your screen, and then release.
  5. The screen should turn black, indicating that you’re in Vanish Mode. From here, you can send messages as you normally would to the recipient.
  6. To exit, tap “Turn off Vanish Mode.” After you close the window, your messages will be permanently deleted.

Although it’s not available to everyone, so far it has proven to be a useful feature for many Instagram users who want an extra layer of privacy.
