Lift: is a new Netflix original series.

Netflix’s upcoming action comedy movie Lift, stars Kevin Hart and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and releases on the streaming service this week.

What is Lift about?

A group of skilled thieves led by Cyrus Whitaker (Kevin Hart) are hired in the latest movie from director F. Gary Gray (Friday, Set It Off, The Italian Job, The Fate of the Furious, Straight Outta Compton) to do what they do best: steal $500 million in gold from a passenger plane. The catch is that they have to do it at 40,000 feet in the air!

Who stars in Lift?

  • Kevin Hart (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Get Hard) plays Cyrus Whitaker, who is the mastermind of the Lift team, a seasoned thief who finds himself cajoled into working with the government for one last heist.
  • Gugu Mbatha-Raw (A Wrinkle in TimeBelle) plays Abby Gladwell, an Interpol agent who’s reticent to recruit Cyrus for a mission with stakes this high. But under her own supervision, she’s convinced to give the scoundrel and his team a chance.
  • Vincent D’Onofrio (Men in BlackDaredevil) plays Denton, a master of disguise who is an integral fixture of Cyrus’ crew, and a close friend.
  • Úrsula Corberó (Snake Eyes, Money Heist) plays Camila, who is the team’s wheelwoman, a getaway driver without compare. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s prepared to fly a private jet. But preparation is overrated anyway.
  • Billy Magnussen (Into The Woods, Maniac) plays Magnus, who is the team’s genial safecracker and a force to be reckoned with — and, occasionally, a wisecracker to be tolerated (barely).
  • Jacob Batalon (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Reginald the Vampire) plays N8, a mysterious digital artist who appears early on in Lift; like many things about the anonymous performer, his role is kept under tight wraps.
  • Jean Reno (The Da Vinci CodeThe Pink Panther) plays investment banker Lars Jorgensen, who uses his status as a seemingly upstanding citizen to cloak a life devoted to financial terrorism. He’s the owner of those ten tons of gold — but not if Cyrus has anything to say about it.
  • Sam Worthington (Clash of the Titans, Avatar) plays Dennis Huxley, who is Abby’s Interpol boss and convinces her to bring Cyrus into their circle of trust, desperate to stop the gold from falling into the hands of global terror.
