Naturally, Luffy and his group resolve to keep the elderly guy safe after learning about it. Thus, the Marines and the pirates engage in a full-scale combat. Saturn discovers in Chapter 1106 that Vegapunk secretly altered the Pacifista.
Vegapunk, who was friends with Kuma, couldn’t stand the idea that Bonney would one day be killed by a machine that looked like her father. So he made sure the Pacifistas would never hurt her, no matter what. But this infuriates Saturn, who uses his enormous nails to impale the elderly scientist.
