In spite of a rumoured delay, leaked OnePlus Open renders show an upgraded design.

What you must understand
The OnePlus Open, the company’s first foldable phone, is anticipated to go on sale this year.
When compared to earlier renders, the new ones show an upgraded design.
According to rumours, OnePlus has postponed the Open’s release because of display problems.
After the July release of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, OnePlus is anticipated to introduce its own foldable phone this year. A new series of renders appears to give us a clearer picture of what the OnePlus Open will look like compared to earlier leaks that showed what we might anticipate when it launches.

The renderings, which showed a few design changes on an early production unit compared to the first set of renders of a prototype unit, were published by Smartprix and shared by leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks). One of them has a larger aspect ratio that is more akin to the OPPO Find N2 and less like the Galaxy Z Fold series. In order to improve reachability, the external and interior displays should be wider rather than taller.

As a result, the huge circular camera housing on the rear appears to be even more prominent and occupies a large portion of the phone’s upper half. The enclosure has three camera sensors hidden inside of it, and a “H” has probably been inscribed there for the Hasselblad collaboration in the largely vacant space. The Hasselblad name was etched in full on the housing in earlier renderings, though it might have been altered to fit better.

The top-right corner of the back still houses the LED flash device. Under the Hasselblad name, there is also another sensor that is thought to be a Time-of-Flight (ToF), LiDAR, or other type of sensor.

Internally, it appears the front camera has moved from the left corner to the right of the phone. Users who typically rotate their phone to the left while setting it down for a video conference may find this more natural.

In other places, the device looks to have a flat frame with rounded corners compared to earlier models. The back of the phone can also sport the increasingly common faux leather texture.
